MN State Fair

Even though I'm posting this in late October, I'm going to pre-date it September so it's logical when looking back through the blog. This year was different than others. Both Bobbi and Owen were awarded trips to the State Fair with their 4H projects...but the judging was on different days. Soooo, that meant that I took some girls with me on Bobbi's day, and Daddy went with Owen on his day.

As usual, our trip to the MN State Fair involved Sweet Martha's Cookies for lunch. Evania wore them proudly.
Here's Bobbi during her judging session. A typical State Fair judging experience has one judge and 3 or 4 student/peers all together, but they provided a private session for Bobbi to accommodate her language challenges. There's no wi-fi in the 4H building, so no google translate on my phone!
Here's a photo of Owen's self-designed remote control car with remote steering on display next to a pretty cool monkey.
We got our free sample of Kemps ice cream, and learned that Rinnah is seven scoops tall...
 ...Leah is nine...
 And Evania is about five.
Every year we hit the Little Farm Hands exhibit, and Leah helped Evania drive the tractor.
We took every goofy photo op that was offered to us...

 ...and milked the fake cows.
Bobbi thought that was pretty funny!
But perhaps the highlight was the just-a-few-days-old lambs in the Miracle of Birth Building.
This lucky lamb is being petted by four girls at once - three of them mine (and Rinnah's standing in between Leah and Evania, looking.)
