Glewwe Kids: June 2016

Fun with quilts. I can't remember the impetus, but all of the kids had their quilts that I've made for them out on the floor to drive cars on.

Ballet recital! It's fun to be teaching my own girls after many years before having kids of teaching other girls (which I also enjoyed).

Matt and I got to play in the yard! We carved away the edge of the berm that was made from the dirt excavated from the new basement, and leveled out a path that I can safely take a wagon around. We used granite pavers salvaged from the house next door (Matt's grandpa's brother's house) - the pavers were originally the pavement of the original St. Paul Farmer's market.

Instant garden! It's so much fun having so much plant material available in our yard..and little helpers to work in it.

Rinnah and Reuben and I visited the new children's section of one of our local libraries.

Reuben has "graduated" from physical therapy (more because his progress has plateaued than that he's made such great gains.) We all went with him on his last day ("all" meaning me and the four girls.)

Here's Reuben with his "Baba" (Brian - his physical therapist for the last four years). Brian bought a special cupcake for Reuben, and some other cupcakes so we could celebrate.

And a photo of the party. Reuben's a pretty well-known guy around the therapy center! Thankfully for him, he's still there doing OT and speech, so he still sees all of these people twice a week, at least in passing.

That's a little better - the dress she's wearing belonged to one of my grandmothers. It's very delicate, but still very beautiful.

A trip to the library, but we got there early, so we waited outside on the bench reading all of the books we meant to return.

For Krassi's 12th birthday we all (plus some friends) went to a new handicap-accessible playground that just recently opened. This was a big swaying platform that we could wheel Krassi up onto.

...and a splash pad! He knows the water comes out of that hole - look at the anticipation!

Rinnah was very proud to be able to do this cork-screw by herself.

There's even a zip line - two next to each other - one for kids who can hold on, and this one for kids who can't, like Krassi.

On Rinnah's birthday later that same week, we went with her friend to a neat bookstore.

At the end of June we spent a few days in WI with Grandma and Grandpa. It's a nice bonus to get to see both sets of *my* grandparents, too. Here's Reuben showing Oma his "Letter School" game.
