Five years old!

Evania's big day fell on Easter this year. Much fun. I remember when Sara was little and HER birthday fell on Easter, and she was similarly impressed. Nothing like having a special gathering at grandma and grandpa's house with relatives and a big meal and everything! Well, we didn't get to go to grandma and grandpa's, but we DID host Matt's brother and family, and our two "Gopher Buddies" (medical students from the U who have been paired up with Mira and Reuben for the school year to give them a chance to see the more personal side of why they're getting into the medical field) and one of them brought her boyfriend, too. So, it was a party!
The inspiration for Evania's cake came from something she saw in one of Grandma Glewwe's magazines. The inside was red velvet, so it was quite a stunning cake!

Bringing her characteristic focus to the important task of birthday presents.

Definitely a unicorn theme this year!
We love this girl to pieces! She is such a unique child (well, they all are, but of the four US-born girls, she manages to fit right in and dance to the beat of her own drummer as well!) She's smart, and helpful and learning how to read and getting close to riding a two-wheel bike on her own. She's got a great head for numbers, and doesn't see any reason why she can't draw anything her older sisters can, and just as well, too. Five is going to be a good year for this girl!
