Hidden Falls Regional Park

We've had a wonderful week of adventures. Matt, while scoping options for Bobbi's senior pictures, stumbled upon a park not far at all from our house. On Sunday, he and Reuben went to check it out, to see how accessible the areas he was hoping to bring her to would be. Reuben, of course, was delighted by the chance to sit by the river and throw rocks!

Two days later, Bobbi and Dad met up with Michael, the architect Matt works with who also dabbles (quite well) in photography, to take her senior pictures. These are just the pictures Matt took while the real photos were being taken. We're excited to see the real ones hopefully by this weekend.

Then, today, our homeschooled kids went on a field trip - hiking along the river to find the outlet of the stream that runs down from the falls.

 

 And then we followed the stream, picking our way along the bank and across logs and stones back and forth until we got to the falls!!!

It would have been much easier to just follow the path from the parking lot, but this was a whole lot better for an adventure! Eventually we made it to the path at the head of the falls, and enjoyed the man-made walls along the edge and the 100+ stairs going up to the top of the bluff.
