Climbing

As the weather has warmed up, the kids are ALL ABOUT climbing trees. It's great having a yard with so many mature trees. Leah's arms and legs are all scratched up as she pushes herself to new limits. We came home from church last week to find Owen, who had biked home ahead of us, lounging up in the big maple on the front hill while Noble the cat prowled below him; usually he gets home after we do so isn't locked out of the house!

Yesterday I looked out the kitchen window to see Leah and Owen lifting Evania up into that same tree. Ummm. Quick parenting decision: don't climb in trees that you can't climb into by yourself! But before I pulled her down and suggested a different climbing venue, I had to snap a picture - she was pretty proud of herself being up in that big tree with her big brother!

  1. "don't climb in trees that you can't climb into by yourself!"

Hah, yes! We have that rule too: "If you can't figure out how to get into the tree safely, then it's not safe for me to boost you up."
